Celebrating 20 Years of Partnerships

The Unitarian Church of Transylvania is celebrating 20 years of partnerships in Kolozsvár, July 22 — July 25, 2010.
The opening ceremony is Thursday, July 23rd, followed by a memorial conference in the Headquarters’ Chapel on Friday 24th: a full day of sharing memories, stories, and histories of partnerships. 

The Friday program includes:
The history of congregational partnerships in stories;
Educational partnerships (in stories);
The UUA and the Unitarian Church in Transylvania;
Congregational and personal relationships (stories);
Thoughts for the next 20 years.
Participating will be: Bishop Ferenc Bálint-Benczédi and former Bishop Árpád Szabó, the Rev. Leon Hopper, the Rev. Dr. Judit Gellérd, Barbara Kres Beach, Richard VanDuizend, the Rev. Richard Boeke, the Rev. Dr. Harold Babcock, the Rev. Dénes Farkas, Linda Lu (Schulz) Burciaga, Eric Cherry and others. A concert by the Choir of First Unitarian Church, San Francisco follows.  The day concludes with dinner and live music at the Bishop’s Residence.

On Saturday July 24th there will be a worship service with Bishop Bálint-Benczédi and the Rev. Dr. William Schulz who will deliver the sermon. Afterwards, a concert by Albert Márkos & orchestra precedes a lunch reception for the participants.
