UU Partner Church Council PATHS Student Sponsorship Program
The UUPCC PATHS program for student sponsorship builds relations between individuals or groups in UU Congregations in Unitarian Universalist students in other countries. The mission of the program is to build person-to-person connections and to support the educational opportunities for students who otherwise cannot go to school For specifics and to register go to http://www.uupcc.org/studentsponsros.html
 
Renewal House Program of U*U Urban Ministry, Boston
Renewal House is a domestic violence shelter in Roxbury area of Boston for individuals in crisis and their children. Since 1980, Renewal House has provided temporary emergency shelter and advocacy services to more than 1,000 individuals and families escaping domestic violence. Most of these individuals have been and continue to be women.
 
Health Camp, Children’s village, Women’s Wing of the Unitarian Union, Khasi Hills, India
On return of the representatives from the Women’s Convocation in Houston, and upon meeting and discussing the recommendations of that gathering the Women’s Wing of the Unitarian Union agreed to begin free Health Camps. At this time they have held three such camps one in the Annie Margaret Barr Children’s Village, one at Mawkisyiem lower primary school where 200 people were served and finally an eye camp conducted while Sharon VanDuizend was visiting and was able to bring back a first hand account, in the most recent issue of the ICUUW newsletter (Feb 2010). All of these camps have been funded by the Women’s Wing.
 
NGO Working with Unitarian Church in Benced, Romania
This program initiative was submitted by Pall Krisztina who was instrumental in forming an NGO to work with the Unitarian Church to assist in the economic development of the rural village of Benced in Transylvania. Krisztina is the president, the president of the congregation is also a woman, Makkai Ildiko. In the project half of those involved are women. There have been several grants received the first of which went to fund a telecottage, a community center, a local newspaper and an ecogoly camp for youth.
